The 420-acre Washington County Convention Center complex can accommodate a wide variety of meetings and events. The complex encompasses not only the popular 25,000 square-foot Exhibit Hall with a 4200-square-foot four-way convertible meeting room, but an Expo Center, Outdoor Arena, Stock Car Racing Track, and Legion Baseball Field
The 38,400 -square-foot enclosed Exposition Building has been the scene of livestock and other agricultural exhibits and circuses and can accommodate a crowd of 2500 attendees. Stockcar races use the Convention Center’s 500- x 1000-foot track. The bleachers will hold 3500 enthusiasts, with the convenience of four women’s restrooms and three men’s restrooms. The complex also features Legion Field, featuring four Dixie Baseball fields with bleachers that will seat 500 fans each.
Convention Center Features
The most dominating feature of the Convention Center Complex is its 25,000 square-foot indoor Exhibit Hall, which will seat an audience of 3500 for a concert or 100 tables for a banquet. It can be transformed into an athletic event with a portable hardwood floor and bleacher seating for 500.
Concerts given at the arena take advantage of its 1500-square foot stage, audio system (four microphone hook-ups; cordless microphone, Samsung Cassette Deck, and CD changer), and lighting system (spotlights and stage lights with dimmer switches).
Organizers of smaller conferences can use the convertible room, with a total capacity of 4200 square feet that can be partitioned into four smaller rooms.
The Convention Center also boasts an industrial kitchen, qualifying the Center as a Red Cross Emergency Shelter. The kitchen features three industrial-sized sinks, two ovens, six-burner commercial stove, two freezers, two refrigerators, two deep-fat fryers, stove grill and warmer, commercial ice maker, microwave oven, and two tables. Also on the premises are eight bathrooms.
